Tee & Eggs predicts the boxing day action!

We drop our predictions in for all of today’s Welsh boxing day action as Scarlets host Ospreys and the Blues come up against Dragons in what looks like a cracking line up of festive rugby! Despite Brad Mooar being set to leave the Scarlets and the Ospreys struggling to find form, nothing else matters as the four Welsh regions battle it out for the bragging rights, for a few months at least!

Cardiff Blues vs Dragons- Kick Off 3:00pm

James- ”both teams will come into this with confidence after gaining victories in their first derby. The Blues have won their last three league games and have a very record against their east-Walian rivals. With the likes of Josh Adams, Owen Lane, Hallam Amos and Rey Lee-Lo all starting, there is no doubt there will be some tries. Their is also set to be an exciting battle in the pack, with Wales stars Josh Navidi and Ross Moriarty both starting. In what is set to be a packed Cardiff Arms Park, this will hopefully be a Boxing Day thriller. I can see the home side winning with a bonus point, but don’t write off the Dragons getting nothing out of the game. Prediciton: Cardiff Blues by 7”

Dylan- ”this game looks to be quite the match up. The return of Josh Navidi will add some experience to the back row and Hallam Amos starting at full back will no doubt add fuel to the fire in his first match against his former club! The Blues will no doubt be looking to utlilise in-form newboy Josh Adams on the wing, and with the home side behind the boys in blue, I can’t see the Dragons getting much out of this one, Blues to win by 9.”

Ben- ”This will produce fireworks! Blues are coming off a close win over the Ospreys and Dragons doing the same over the Scarlets. Both teams have had decent seasons so far but following victory last week over their Welsh counterparts, both will be brimming with confidence, but a Derby is a Derby.. Interesting match-ups on either side such as Moriaty Vs. Navidi, but I think the Blues have too much with the likes of Josh Adams and Owen Lane. Prediction – Blues by 12. ”

Scarlets vs Ospreys- Kick Off 5:15pm

James- ”in the last few years, this match has been one of the highlights in the Pro14 calendar. However, with the Ospreys looking like a team that simply have no ansewrs at the moment, you feel this could be over from the first minute. With the Scarlets likely to be still hurting after losing in the last play thanks to a Sam Davies drop goal, there is likely to be a ruthlessness about them. They have international experience all across the starting 15: including Leigh Halfpenny, Hadleigh Parkes, Gareth Davies, Ken Owens and Jake Ball. The Ospreys have the likes of Scott Williams, Bradley Davies and captain Justin Tipuric. Overall, I believe the Ospreys dire run will continue and in front of a big crowd, the Scarlets will thrive and gain five points from the encounter. Prediction: Scarlets by 20”

Dylan- ”a packed Parc Y Scarlets stadium will likely be in for quite the Boxing Day treat, in a game which aptly typifies the ‘form goes out the window’ expression. Both sides are coming off the back of losses against the other two Welsh regions, so will be keen to grab their first win over the festive period. Angus O’Brien replaces Dan Jones at 10 and will be full of confidence following that performance against Bayonne, we should expect another good showing from the former Dragon. Winger Ryan Conbeer slots in the back line with Leigh Halfpenny and Steff Evans, so the Scarlets are looking very strong in the speed department, which may prove crucial on the counter. Scarlets will be reeling after losing out to a last minute Dragons’ drop goal so I expect them to narrowly grab the win by 3 points.”

Ben- ”a defeat for both against their east Wales opponents is not how either would have hoped their first derbies of the season would go but what better way to bounce back than with another derby; this time against their fiercest rivals. Scarlets will have a boost following the news of Liam Williams headed to Parc Y Scarlets next season. Experience over the pitch for the red men with the likes of Leigh Halfpenny and Hadleigh Parkes will more than help, but the Ospreys can’t be counted out. A below-par performance last week to a 13-man Blues team wasn’t great, but to come so close to victory considering the way they played, that will give them a moral boost. However, Scarlets have too much in this one. Prediction – Scarlets by 7”

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
